Ian Clement, Deputy Mayor of London
Ian is currently London’s Deputy Mayor for Government Relations. He has lived in London all his life and was educated at Trinity School, Belvedere. Having been elected to Bexley Council in 1998, Ian has served as Vice Chairman of the Environmental Services Committee, Chairman of the Traffic and Transport Sub-Committee, Chairman of the Environment, Transport and Regeneration Scrutiny Committee, Shadow Cabinet/Opposition Spokesman for the Environment, Transport and Regeneration portfolio and Leader of the Conservative Group. He was elected as Leader of the Council in May 2006. Appointed to the Executive of the London Councils following the May elections, Ian has been the leading member of the Crime and Public Protection Portfolio. Ian has immense experience in operations management and business process from his time working in the private sector.
