2020年是个不平凡的年份。2020年，新冠疫情席卷全球，全球经济政治不确定性增强，各行业面临全新的机遇与挑战。
历经2020年的洗礼，站在全新的2021年，世界500强与行业领先企业的商业领袖们，对于自己与家庭的联系，对于所在企业及行业发展及全球化与合作共赢均有了新的理解。
今年的“CDF之声”栏目，论坛秘书处邀请参会代表们以“我的2020”为题，分享过去一年来自己与他们所领导的企业、所在行业与国家的共同经历与感受。今天发声的是UL公司总裁兼首席执行官简思明（Jennifer Scanlon）。
简思明首先回顾了UL在2020年取得的成就。过去一年，UL深受世界人们携手共战疫情的精神和行动鼓舞，并选择加入到这场全球协作的战斗中。去年1月，UL为身处湖北一线的医疗队提供了个人防护装备。
面对疫情冲击，UL竭力守护员工和客户安全，并充分发挥运营韧性，力保全球供应链稳定。

与此同时，UL与中国的伙伴保持着友好的合作关系，促成了两座新实验室的建立。
简思明也惊叹于中国恢复速度。2020年，中国不仅迅速遏制了病毒传播，研制个人防护装备出口到其他国家，积极开展合作驰援全球，也在2020年底达成了消除绝对贫困的关键里程碑。
她为此喝彩，也赞扬中国发展研究基金会多年来改善偏远地区的儿童营养和小学教育问题的努力。
“我期待与与会嘉宾展开深入对话，推动我们在共同的道路上携手前进，迈向互惠互利且具包容性的繁荣与发展。”

大家好，我是简思明，全球安全科学领导者UL公司总裁兼首席执行官。
UL很荣幸再次参加中国发展高层论坛。我期待着与各位交流探讨我们在2020年取得的成果，以及这些成果对我们共同的未来意味着什么。
对于UL来说，全球团结协作的精神让我们深受鼓舞。2020年，我们看到全球民众和组织机构积极适应新的现实，携手共战全球疫情。2020年1月，当我们中国的同事和朋友们开始面临疫情挑战时，UL迅速行动起来，向上海的一家医院提供个人防护装备，该医院随后将这些装备发往奋战在湖北省的一线医疗队。
我们也惊叹于中国恢复得如此之快，不仅迅速遏制了病毒传播，还研制个人防护装备出口到其他国家，并积极开展合作驰援全球。
面对疫情冲击，UL竭力守护员工和客户安全，并充分发挥运营韧性，力保全球供应链稳定。与其他公司一样，我们通过调整和创新来应对疫情的挑战。与此同时，UL在履行多元化、公平性和包容性承诺方面也取得了里程碑式的成就。
此外，UL还与合资伙伴中国检验认证集团 （CCIC） 共同庆祝了我们的友好合作40周年。UL对中国的长久承诺及其与客户的合作关系促成了两座新实验室的建立，其中一座便是位于常州的UL动力电池检测实验室。
中国在电动汽车普及方面引领全球，对电动汽车的未来有着重大影响。有利的政府政策以及合理的电价将进一步推动中国这一重要市场的增长。为助力中国汽车产业发展，UL开设了专门服务于电动汽车电池的实验室，以帮助中国电动汽车制造商打造品牌势能，建立和维护消费者对电池安全的信任。
中国在2020年底达成了消除绝对贫困的关键里程碑，我们为此而喝彩。我们也赞扬中国发展研究基金会多年来的努力，以解决偏远地区的儿童营养和小学教育问题。贵组织的影响力在这项工作中展露无遗。
在此，我衷心祝贺卢迈副理事长和中国发展研究基金会荣获港澳台慈善基金会颁发的爱心奖。这种对包容和公平的不懈关注支持着全球的进一步发展、减贫和共同增长。UL十分荣幸能与您、中国发展研究基金会以及商界伙伴并肩合作，一起完成这些重要的工作。

Hello， I’m Jennifer Scanlon， President & CEO of UL， the global safety science leader．
UL is proud to once again to support the China Development Forum， I look forward to discussions about what we have learned during 2020 and what it means for our shared future．
At UL， we’re inspired by the human spirit of unity and collaboration． In 2020， we saw people and organizations around the world adjust to the new reality， shifting their focus to join together in working to overcome the global pandemic． When we first observed our colleagues and friends in China facing the challenge of COVID-19 in January 2020， UL acted quickly to help． We provided PPE to a hospital in Shanghai， which then distributed those supplies to emergency teams in Hubei Province．
We also marveled at how quickly China recovered， reducing the spread of the virus， developing PPE to export to other countries and collaborating to assist the rest of the world．
The pandemic brought sharper focus to UL’s dedication to the safety of our employees and customers， and to the resiliency in our operations in support of global supply chains． Like other companies， we adapted and innovated to manage through the COVID-19 challenges． And at the same time， we achieved milestones in UL’s diversity， equity and inclusion commitments．
UL also celebrated our 40th anniversary with our joint venture partner CCIC． UL’s ongoing commitment to China and our customer partnerships resulted in the opening of two new labs， including an electric vehicle battery lab in Changzhou．
UL recognizes China’s impact on the future of electric vehicles as it leads the world in EV adoption． Favorable government policies coupled with affordable electricity are helping drive growth of this important market． In support of China’s automotive industry， UL opened our dedicated EV battery lab to help China-based companies build and maintain brand trust in battery safety．
We applaud China for achieving a critical milestone in the eradication of extreme poverty at the end of 2020． We commend the China Development Research Foundation for its multi-year journey to address child nutrition and elementary education in remote regions， a testament to your organization’s impact．
I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to Vice Chairman Lu Mai and the CDRF on receiving the Compassion Award from the Hong Kong & Macao Taiwanese Charity Fund． This mindful focus on inclusion and equity supports further global development， poverty alleviation， and mutual growth． UL is honored to work with you， CDRF and the broader business community on these important endeavors．
“China on a New Journey of Modernization” is a timely theme for this year’s CDF． I look forward to the rich dialogue where together we will advance our shared pathway to mutually beneficial and inclusive growth and development．
