石道成表示，成立150多年来，力拓一直在见证变革，其中最重要的变化之一当属中国的伟大转型。
如今，中国制造业规模约占全球比重的三分之一，力拓则帮助提供支持这一产能的矿物和金属原材料。现在，力拓与众多中国领先企业建立了广泛的合作伙伴关系，还在世界各地共同努力开展互利合作。
他提及去年四次访问中国的经历，赞赏了中国在应对气候变化方面的领导力，并表示力拓很自豪能够参与其中，提供建设绿色基础设施所需的原材料，同时与包括中国发展研究基金会在内的合作伙伴携手，确保发展的红利以可持续的方式为全社会共享。

大家好！
我是力拓集团首席执行官石道成。
力拓集团是世界上历史最为悠久、规模最大的矿业公司之一，中国作为我们的合作伙伴、客户、股东以及创新和增长引擎，是我们业务的重要组成部分。
每年，我都非常期待参加中国发展高层论坛，借此机会与来自中国和世界各地的行业领袖交流，探讨与未来息息相关的议题。论坛为我们提供了宝贵机遇，就如何开展互利合作、如何持续推进高质量发展，以及如何携手应对共同面临的全球性挑战交流想法。
我很高兴能够参加中国发展高层论坛2024年年会，进一步了解中国正如何应对可持续增长的挑战，并分享力拓成立150多年来所积累的一些经验。
150多年来，力拓一直在见证变革。技术的革新，对不同资源需求的变化，以及我们生产运营所处世界的演变。
其中最重要的变化之一当属中国的伟大转型，中国已成为我们业务的核心。
如今，中国是我们最大的客户。中国制造业规模约占全球比重的三分之一，力拓则帮助提供支持这一产能的矿物和金属原材料。
我们在该供应链扮演关键角色需要获得信任，这种信任正是我们通过与中国伙伴50多年的合作建立起来的。
1973年，我们成为首家向中国发运铁矿石的外资公司，此后我们已经向中国钢厂供应了超过38亿吨铁矿石，足以用来建造22000座“鸟巢”体育场，或6万座摩天大楼！
我们与中国长久、成功的合作伙伴关系背后，最重要的因素之一就是我们注重长期合作伙伴关系。
早在20世纪80年代，我们就助力中国建设其首个海外矿产资源投资项目，建立合营企业在西澳大利亚开发铁矿石。该项目成功运营了30多年，此后我们也一直在优化合作模式。
现在，我们已经与众多中国领先企业建立了广泛的合作伙伴关系，并在世界各地共同努力开展互利合作。从西澳到西非，我们一路同行，为人类进步和全球净零转型提供所需的关键材料。
与此同时，我们不断寻求更优之道，以更安全、更可持续的方式满足全球资源需求，无论是在社会还是环境层面。
当前，中国已经成为绿色基础设施和绿色技术的世界领导者，能够利用好这些优势对任何企业来说都是一笔巨大的财富。随着中国经济发展进入新阶段，我们对新发展理念和高质量发展所带来的机遇感到兴奋。
我们认为，高质量发展是从经济高速增长向更可持续增长的转变，重点是为整个社会带来长久繁荣。中国在应对气候变化方面的领导力就是这一转变的良好范例。
去年，我四次访问中国，期间我们的客户和合作伙伴不断强调采取实际行动减少碳排放和努力实现碳中和的重要性。这一承诺在大量研发投资的支持下，奠定了中国在包括电动汽车和可再生能源在内的技术领域当之无愧的领导地位。
力拓很自豪能参与到这个故事中，提供建设下一代绿色基础设施所需原材料，并与中国专家合作，帮助改进技术和实践。
同样重要的是，我们与包括中国发展研究基金会在内的合作伙伴携手，确保发展红利以可持续的方式为全社会共享。

Hello， everyone．
My name is Jakob Stausholm and I’m the Chief Executive of Rio Tinto．
We’re one of the oldest and largest mining companies in the world， and China is an essential part of our business as a partner， as a customer， as a shareholder， and as a driver of innovation and growth．
Every year I look forward to the China Development Forum as an opportunity to connect with leaders from China and around the world to discuss the issues that will shape our future． It’s an opportunity to share ideas about how we can work together for mutual benefit， how we can keep delivering high-quality development， and how we can cooperate to overcome the global challenges that we all share．
I’m excited to join you at the 2024 China Development Forum to learn more about how China is approaching the challenge of sustainable growth， and to share some of the experience that Rio Tinto has gained since our company was founded more than 150 years ago．
In that time， we’ve seen a lot of changes． Changes in technology， changes in demand for different resources， and changes to the world in which we operate．
One of the most significant changes has been the incredible transformation of China， which has grown to become a central part of our business．
China is now our largest customer by far． It accounts for roughly one-third of global manufacturing， and Rio Tinto helps supply the minerals and metals required to support that capacity．
Our role as a key part of that supply chain requires trust， which we have built through more than 50 years of cooperation with our Chinese partners．
In 1973 we became the first foreign company to ship iron ore to China， and since then we’ve supplied more than 3.8 billion tonnes to Chinese steel mills． That’s enough to build nearly 22，000 replicas of the famous “Bird Nest” stadium in Beijing， or 60，000 skyscrapers！
One of the most important factors behind the success of our relationship with China has been our focus on long-term partnerships．
Back in the 1980s， we helped China establish its first ever foreign investment in a mining project， which was a joint venture to develop an iron ore mine in Western Australia． That project ran successfully for more than 30 years， and we’ve been improving our model for cooperation ever since．
We now have a wide range of partnerships with leading Chinese companies， and we are working together for mutual benefit around the world． From Western Australia to West Africa， we are cooperating to supply the resources essential for human progress and the global transition to net-zero．
At the same time， we’re constantly finding better ways to meet the global need for resources in a way that is safer and more sustainable， both socially and environmentally．
China is now a world leader in the development of green infrastructure and technology， and being able to draw on that expertise is a huge asset to any business． As China’s economic development enters a new phase， we are excited about the opportunities presented by the new development paradigm and high-quality development agenda．
For us， we see high-quality development as the shift from rapid economic growth to a more sustainable level of growth that is focused on delivering better long-term outcomes for societies as a whole． China’s leadership in addressing climate change is a good example of this approach．
During my four visits to China last year， our customers and partners consistently emphasised the importance of taking real action to reduce emissions and work towards carbon neutrality． That commitment， supported by significant investment in research and development， has already established China as a leader in technologies such as electric vehicles and renewable power．
At Rio Tinto， we are proud to be part of this story， by supplying the raw materials required to build the next generation of green infrastructure， and by working with Chinese experts to help improve the underlying technology and practices．
Equally important， we work with partners like the China Development Research Foundation to help ensure that the benefits from development are shared across society in a sustainable way．
Long-term cooperation for mutual benefit is the common thread that links all our success stories． That’s why events like the China Development Forum are so important．
It provides a unique platform for sharing ideas， challenges and solutions with leaders from a wide range of sectors and backgrounds． It brings us together， reminds us of our common interests， and creates the opportunities to build new connections．
