Today we are here at Li Chunling's studio and we are going to learn about the art of Zhuanqiao paper-cutting. This is a Loong created from that very style. I am eager to learn more as soon as I can.
As the inheritor of Zhuanqiao paper-cutting Miss Li introduced the history of Zhuanqiao paper-cutting firstly. In the early Ming Dynasty, Zhuanqiao paper-cutting started to spread. It has the character of the riverlands. The design of Zhuanqiao paper-cutting is full of this area's features and people's aspiration for a better life.
Then Miss Li taught the visitors to make butterfly wings that are round. She said: "After a while, we will make some hollow patterns on the wings of the butterfly. This is the essence of Zhuanqiao paper-cutting."
Li Jiale, a university student, said: "Since I was a child I saw my mother making paper-cutting at home. So I had that interest in paper-cutting.
"In January of 2024 at the Asian American Expo which was held in Los Angeles I taught some simple skills of paper-cutting to my American friends. I have been engaged in making paper-cutting for more than 20 years. As a kindergarten teacher I very much desire to share paper-cutting with my students. They like paper-cutting so much to express the beautiful world through their eyes." said Miss Li.
All that is required is some imagination. It shows people's personality and their character through something as simple as cutting holes certain ways. We hope that Zhuanqiao paper-cutting could be spread from generation to generation.

作为颛桥剪纸的传承人，李老师向大家介绍了颛桥剪纸的历史。颛桥剪纸早在明代初期的时候就开始流传了。颛桥剪纸非常具有水乡的特色。它的设计会考虑到地区的特色和人民对美好生活的向往。
接着，她教大家如何剪出一个美丽的蝴蝶。她说：“剪一个小的翅膀，圆圆的。等一会儿，我们就在这个蝴蝶的翅膀上面，做一些镂空纹样。这个就是我们剪纸的精髓。”
大学生李嘉乐说：“我从小就看我的妈妈在家制作剪纸。所以小时候就开始对剪纸非常感兴趣。”
“在2024年1月的美国洛杉矶的华人工商大展上，我在现场也教美国朋友们进行了一些简单的剪纸。我与剪纸结缘已经有20多年了。作为幼儿园老师，我非常愿意和我的孩子们一起剪纸。孩子们也非常喜欢用他们创作的剪纸表达他们眼睛里面美好的世界。”李老师告诉记者。
进行剪纸创作也需要一些想象力。剪纸通过镂空纹样展现了人们的性格特点。希望颛桥剪纸，代代相传。
