Lionel Messi took to one of China's largest social media platforms on Monday to address speculation over his non-appearance in a recent Inter Miami friendly in Hong Kong.

大家好，我已经读到并听到了很多在中国香港比赛后被提及的话，我想录制这个视频，给出真实的情况，希望大家不会再继续看到不实的消息了。
"I've read and heard many things that have been said after the game in Hong Kong. I wanted to record this video and give you the true version so nobody has to continue reading false stories," Messi said in footage posted on Weibo.
如球迷们所知，我永远想要参加每一场比赛，永远向往球场，我听到有人说我因为政治原因或许多其他原因不想参赛，但这些都不是真的，如果真是这样我甚至不会去日本，或者像之前那样多次访问中国。
"As everyone knows, I always want to play. I want to play in every match. I heard that I didn't want to play because of politics and many other things that have nothing to do with this. If that were the case I wouldn’t have traveled to Japan or to China like I have so many times in my career."

I felt it in the first game that I played in Saudi Arabia and I tried to play in the second game (in Saudi) but it felt worse."

"I tried the day before to take part in that training session to be there for all those people. I did what I could and I took part in the clinic with all those kids, but I honestly couldn’t play because I felt discomfort. After a few days had passed I felt a little better and that’s why I played a bit in the friendly in Japan in order to continue improving physically and continue to prepare for what’s coming next for me. I had to play to get some rhythm back."

据此前报道，梅西2月4日缺阵迈阿密国际与中国香港明星队的表演赛，7日晚间却在日本与神户胜利船的友谊赛上阵约30分钟，且完成了带球、射门、高速跑动等技术动作，并未有明显异样，在球迷中引发巨大争议。
